POLLY WYATT

In my work I use watercolours, pencils and pens to illustrate beautiful flowers and natural objects.

I have always had an interest in flowers in all their different forms, colours and fascinating intricate details. I have loved drawing since childhood, and through the years practised drawing in close detail. After meeting a local Botanical Artist, I was inspired by the way she captured the smallest details, colour and shade in natural objects, plants and flowers to create the most beautiful artwork. She shared some helpful tips and secrets with me, and shortly afterwards I enrolled into a diploma course in Botanical Illustration from Chelsea School of Botanical Art which I completed in 2014.

For 10 years we lived in the centre of Oxford and the Botanical Gardens was a place I would go very frequently, at any time of the year, for inspiration or just to enjoy the scenery and being in a beautiful place.
Focusing on a detailed drawing is a favourite activity for me and I find I can concentrate for hours, my mind completely absorbed in my drawing. My main job is as an HR Officer at the University of Oxford, but drawing is my passion and I have been fortunate to sell a few pieces and prints on greetings cards. I sell original paintings in mounts and have taken on some commissions to paint a favourite flower.
